Custom Metal Dome Arrays and Dome Sheets
Dome sheets or dome arrays are the tactile interface between the user and the keyboard. They are made of pre-cut polyester adhesive and domes (typically 0.05mm thick polyester adhesive and 0.03mm thick acrylic adhesive sheets).
Dome arrays can be mounted to a printed circuit board by simply peeling off the liner and aligning the array. Dome arrays not only simplify the assembly process, but also ensure the most accurate placement of the domes on the PCB.
Custom Dome Arrays and Dome Sheets
Dome array assemblies consist of metal domes on a pressure sensitive adhesive PET sheet or array. Each metal dome is located at the center of a kiss-cut bonded square or circle with a release liner backing that allows for easy peeling during assembly. We can also add a tactile feel by adding an actuator on top of the dome, which can also increase the height of the key.
Custom Dome Arrays and Dome Sheets Time: The main advantage of utilizing dome arrays is ease of assembly: by placing all domes on the PCB at the same time, production time can be greatly reduced.
Quality: Reduces quality issues caused by dome placement as these arrays or dome sheets prevent misalignment or misplacement of domes on dome pads and double dome errors during assembly.
